Geek Bar Pulse Settings — Mode Switch, Screen Guide & Troubleshooting

This guide covers every Geek Bar Pulse setting — how to switch between Regular and Pulse Mode, read the smart screen indicators, adjust airflow, charge via USB-C, and troubleshoot blinking lights. These instructions apply to both the Pulse 15K and Pulse X 25K unless noted otherwise.

Regular Mode vs. Pulse Mode

Every Geek Bar Pulse device has two switchable vaping modes. The mode you choose determines puff count, vapor density, and throat hit intensity.

Regular Mode
15K / 25K
Smooth, consistent draw · Lower wattage · Maximum puff count · Best for all-day use
Pulse Mode
7.5K / 12.5K
Stronger throat hit · Denser clouds · Enhanced flavor · Uses e-liquid 2× faster

How to Switch Modes — Step by Step

Locate the Mode Button On both the Pulse 15K and Pulse X, the mode button is on the bottom of the device near the USB-C port. It's a small, recessed button — you may need a fingernail or pen tip to press it.
Press the Button 3 Times Quickly Triple-click the mode button within 2 seconds. The screen will flash to confirm the mode change. A single press or double press won't trigger a switch — it must be 3 rapid clicks.
Check the Screen Indicator The smart screen displays your current mode. On the Pulse 15K, look for the mode text label. On the Pulse X, the Starlight UI shows an animated mode icon. Regular Mode typically shows a steady indicator; Pulse Mode shows a pulsing or highlighted indicator.
Take a Draw to Confirm Take one puff after switching. In Pulse Mode, you'll feel a noticeably stronger throat hit and see denser vapor. If it feels the same as before, repeat the triple-click.
Pro Tip: Start in Regular Mode and switch to Pulse Mode only when you want a stronger experience. Running in Pulse Mode full-time cuts your total puff count in half. Most users keep Regular as their daily mode and switch to Pulse for short sessions.

How to Read the Smart Screen

The screen on both Pulse devices shows three real-time indicators:

Battery LevelBar or percentage showing remaining charge. When it drops to red/low, connect USB-C to recharge.
E-Liquid LevelBar showing remaining e-liquid. When this reaches empty, the device is finished — it cannot be refilled (closed pod system).
Mode IndicatorShows whether you're in Regular or Pulse Mode. The Pulse X's 3D curved screen adds animated depth effects.

Airflow Adjustment

The Pulse X 25K features adjustable airflow via a ring or slider near the mouthpiece. Tighten for a restricted, cigarette-style MTL (mouth-to-lung) draw. Open for a loose, cloudy DTL (direct-to-lung) experience. The Pulse 15K has a fixed airflow designed for a balanced MTL draw.

Charging Guide (USB-C)

Pulse 15K650 mAh · Full charge in 30–40 minutes
Pulse X 25K820 mAh · 80% in ~20 minutes (fast charge)

Use any standard USB-C cable. The screen shows charging progress. Avoid charging with a cable that exceeds 2A output to protect battery longevity. Both devices are passthrough — you can vape while charging.

Troubleshooting — Blinking Lights & Common Issues

Important: The Geek Bar Pulse is a closed pod system. It cannot be refilled, opened, or modified. Attempting to take apart the device voids any return eligibility and may cause damage. For more on this, see Are Geek Bars Safe.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I switch between Regular and Pulse Mode?
Triple-click the mode button on the bottom of the device (near the USB-C port) within 2 seconds. The screen will flash to confirm the switch. Take a puff to verify — Pulse Mode has a noticeably stronger throat hit and denser vapor.
Why is my Geek Bar Pulse blinking red?
A red blinking light means low battery. Connect a USB-C cable and charge for 20–40 minutes. If the red light persists after a full charge, the device's built-in protection circuit may have been triggered. Contact support at [email protected] if the issue continues.
Can I use Geek Bar Pulse while charging?
Yes. Both the Pulse 15K and Pulse X support passthrough charging — you can vape while the device is connected to USB-C. However, for best battery longevity, occasional full charge cycles (let it charge to 100% before using) are recommended.
Can I refill a Geek Bar Pulse?
No. The Geek Bar Pulse is a closed pod system. It comes pre-filled with 16 mL of e-liquid and cannot be opened, refilled, or modified. Attempting to disassemble the device voids return eligibility and may cause leaking or malfunction.
Does the Pulse X have the same settings as the Pulse 15K?
The core settings are the same — both have Regular Mode and Pulse Mode with triple-click switching. The Pulse X adds adjustable airflow (the 15K has fixed airflow) and a 3D curved display with Starlight UI animations. Battery and puff counts differ. See the full Pulse X Guide or Pulse 15K Guide.
